You may not jump right to thinking about rodents when we talk about human-wildlife conflict. However, human-rodent relationships have a long and somewhat dark history in many parts of the world. The extirpation of many of the medium to large carnivores across the grasslands have left rodent populations unchecked and farmers may lose large portions of their crops to rodent infestations if they do not use lethal means of control. Which does not end well for the rodents.
